Here is everything you need to know to get started playing the Kaiju Ketsugo! TCG
What is It?
(We’re glad you asked!)
Kaiju Ketsugo! is an easy-to-learn, but impossible to master, deck building, strategic trading card game where every move matters. It’s designed to be easy enough for kids (8+), and more than challenging enough for ‘kids at heart’ who refuse to completely ‘grow up’, due to its simple systems but complex strategies, synergies and combos.
You’ll team up with monsters called ‘Kaiju’ and use their elemental prowess to extract and collect Joules from the heart of Anèria.
Some call it a
“meeting between Pokémon and Magic the Gathering"
while others call it “fun!”
We’ll let you decide what it is.
We just have one ask:
don’t decide until you try it.

-
Passive abilities are effects that are innate to a Kaiju. These can be used by Kaiju who are both in Primary and in Support, during your turn, but many can even be used on your opponent’s turn!
Some reduce your opponent’s Kaiju’s attacks, some are defensive, some allow you to draw or search for cards and some increase your Kaiju’s abilities!
To find out if they can be used only on your turn or not, look for the phrase, “Once per turn”. If the ability description doesn’t begin with that, then it can be used even on an opponent’s turn! Crazy, huh? -
Active abilities either affect your opponent’s Kaiju or protect yours! They can only be used by Kaiju who are in the Primary position.
The abilities with a single number to the right are attacks and reduce your opponent’s Kaiju’s energy. If there are two numbers separated by a slash (‘/’ ) like this: ‘2/2’ then the attack affects both of your opponent’s Kaiju in the Support position!
Using an Active ability ends your turn, so make sure you’re completely finished with whatever else you’d like to do before you use one! -
Support abilities can only be used by Kaiju who are in the Support positions, and only on your turn.
Most help the Kaiju in Primary by giving them their energy or by increasing their attacking effects.
Support abilities are crucial for a game-winning strategy!
