Kaiju Ketsugo! was created by Zach Langloss, and his family in 2022 when a couple of his kids were drawing monsters. Some of the drawings caught his attention so he digitally illustrated them to raise enthusiasm for drawing monsters. It did. Pretty soon, Zach, remembering the nostalgia and wonder of titles like Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh!, Digimon, Medabots and others from his youth, began to explore the idea of creating his own TCG, in hopes to recapture that nostalgia in a new day for himself and for his little ones. For nearly 3 years after, Zach, his wife and his kids quietly proceeded to design and illustrate with the help of a number of creative freelance artists. When a fraction of the cards were made and initial concepts were being formed, test cards would be seen scattered throughout their home. Playtests, theorizing, and research on the “natural, observable energies of our world” were a main conversation. In January of 2025, we launched a Kickstarter that fizzled quickly and so with a little hope and some crucial financial support, the Origin Series was finished.
Finally, in 2025, Kaiju Ketsugo! looked as though it was ready to be an observable energy in the world and so it was first shared in person at PeoriaCon on March 28th and 29th. The rest is still being written, but Kaiju Ketsugo! TCG cards are still all over the house.
