The Joule X 1000

It’s been a long time coming, and while it’s only the beginning of what is planned for the Kaiju Ketsugo! TCG, it’ll change the game. Namely, Joules, reimagined. You know, the plain cards that don’t do anything. Yeah, those ones.

A Joule can be replaced by a Kilojoule in the Joule Pile.

Quite frankly, the colorful prize cards adorning the left side of your board have been rather boring. Admittedly, that’s by design. At Kaiju Ketsugo!’s initial release, we were concerned with you learning to play the game’s interesting mechanics before we threw too much at you. We wanted to take it slow in our relationship… But that changes now with the introduction of the ‘Kilojoule’. Unlike traditional Joule (prize) cards, Kilojoules boast a game altering ability - with a catch!

Whereas before, gaining a Joule card was truly one of the blandest parts of the game, the introduction of Kilojoules grants bonuses like damage reduction, a sense of safety with opponent move-limitations, and—the unthinkable: the ability to attack twice in one turn. WHAT!? Here’s the twist though: you can only use the Kilojoule’s ability if you have a Kaiju in play that matches the Joule Type of the Kilojoule you collected, when you collected it. It’s also worth mentioning that you can only use that Kilojoule’s ability until you collect another Joule. It’s a short-term bonus, and it’s huge! But wait, there’s more! Because each player is allowed up to 3 Kilojoules in their shuffled Joule Pile, you can mix these Kilojoules in for random bursts of winning all throughout the game.

We are very excited to witness how you might twist the game right from beneath your opponent with the use of a well-timed Kilojoule bonus.

The Kilojoule will first be featured as a ‘secret rare’ in the Kaiju Ketsugo! TCG’s Power Entry base set Joule Boosters, available in the Kaiju Ketsugo! shop online or wherever you buy the Kaiju Ketsugo! TCG. Its pull rate will be limited, however those fortunate few that snatch the 1st Edition Power Entry Joule Boosters may be able to collect all 6 due to their increased rates.

It’s a subtle, yet important introduction to an otherwise seemingly useless card that some have thought to replace with a pathetic dice. Not anymore, they won’t! With the addition of the Kilojoule, the Joule will be seen with greater interest in the Kaiju Ketsugo! TCG’s saga. It’s a card worth having. Your competition surely believes so.
